St. Croix
Dinner at Galleon's

St. Croix is a great island to visit because it is large enough to always have something new to do and someplace new to visit during each trip there.  During our last trip, we had dinner at Galleon’s for the first time.  The restaurant is located just east of Christiansted, but far enough that you will need a car, or a taxi to get there.  The ride will be well worth it.  If you are driving a rental, there is ample parking.

The restaurant is located right on the waterfront, overlooking the Green Cay Marina.  The place is fully air conditioned, and our seats by the window allowed us a good view of all the beautiful yachts outside.  We were there for dinner, but the restaurant is also open for lunch.  This is a great place to enjoy both steaks and seafood, with a Continental touch.  Daily vegetarian dishes are also available.  Our seafood selections were superb.  The Caesar Salad was quite nicely prepared at the table by our server, and was delicious.  There is also an extensive wine cellar here for wine enthusiasts.

We did not indulge in dessert the evening we were there, but from the look of the selections, partaking would be paradise.  Galleon’s is open seven days a week, and there is live music nightly, but reservations are recommended.  It’s a great place, and we will be sure to return during our next visit to the island.
